Case Study: Well Site Tank Cleaning, Deconstruction and Removal
THE CHALLENGE
FBG Limited was contracted by Egdon Resources PLC to deconstruct the Dukes Wood and Kirklington oil producing well sites. The scope included the deep clean of two cellars, removal of contaminated cellar fluids. Deconstruction of the wellhead pumps, before internal cleaning of all connecting pipework between the wellheads and oil storage tanks. Followed by cleaning of the internal and external walls of eight 55,000 litre crude oil storage tanks and connecting pipework. FBG undertook Confined Space cleaning within the tanks and removed over 125,000 litres of contaminated crude oil for processing and reuse.
Solution
Once cleaned, FBG Site Personnel deconstructed all connecting pipework between the wellheads and oil storage tanks, before Crane lifting the tanks on to transport for removal from the site.
